Supply and Demand

Publicola says his FFL has told them that there is a gun supply problem. Gun makers claim there are material shortages.

Not sure the I buy that but I do know that ammo has gone up in price even though folks claim there is no ammo shortage.

Not only have I not seen any Winchester white box at wally world in 7.62x39 but I yesterday as I was out combining my errands because of the increasing cost of gas, I swung by the scrap metal dealer and dropped off a brass radiator from a mid-90s import. Usually I pass stuff like that to a friend, but yesterday I got 11 bux for it.

Scrap prices have gone bonkers over the last two years. Even scrap steel prices. That means crucible steel used to make firearm parts must be up too. I am not surprised at all here.

I understand that our government is buying a lot of 7.62x39 for our friends over in Iraq.

But I doubt they're buying

But I doubt they're buying Wolf ammo ;)

Can't we all just get a long gun?

Yea, you think they would buy all the cheap Chinese steel core that the Overlords have forbidden us to buy, but all those contracts, I suppose, are patronage contracts that can be handed out like favors.

Government spending doesn't create any prosperity, but I suppose I prefer the bazillions of our tax money that get spent on Iraq's behalf gets spent here in the US.
