Hi, I am yet another gun owner. I am currently in the US military and work part time on the weekends at a local range. I have a small collection of firearms that I enjoy shooting immensely, a tiny assortment of modern semis, handguns and milsurp rifles.
Had a great Thanksgiving, just me and the wife. We watched a little TV and I worked on Duracoating a Yugo SKS. I'm having a blast turning a formerly cosmoline coated piece of junk (it was in bad shape at the shop I picked it up in, I don't think the gun itself is crap) into a decent little plinker. I'll post some pics of it when I get done, but be warned, SKS lovers, some of the things I've done to it will make the hardcore shudder... like grinding off the bayonet lug (gasp!) and removing the grenade launcher and replacing it with a custom muzzle brake. Check this guy out if you're looking for an awesome brake for a Yugo SKS M59/66.
I hang out at Survivor's SKS Boards as well as Surplusrifle.com a lot. I encourage anyone reading this to check out Surplusrifle.com soon, as Mr. Jamie Mangrum is shutting down the site next year due to personal illness.
I think that'll do for now.
Welcome!
Glad to have you.
I heard about Surplusrifle.com, a shame, really. Great site, excellent reference. I do plan on buying CD's 1 and 2 very soon.
Also
That link to Sportsman's Guide, as helpful as it was, is considered advertising. I had to nuke it.
Sorry.
Red face.
Sorry about that, I read the site rules after and realized my mistake. I apologize and it won't happen again!
Welcome
Welcome aboard

Can't we all just get a long gun?
