Two Questions

One: Which (free) blogging service would you all recommend to someone who is considering starting one? Is Blogger good?

I ask because sometimes there's things that need sayin', but they're not about guns.

Two: This site has, at the moment, authorized its 479th blogger.

Why isn't this site the busiest on the internet?

Two: I've wondered that

Two: I've wondered that myself

As for one, people seem to stick with blogger.com.

Can't we all just get a long gun?

Yeah

Kinda figured Blogger was the frontrunner.

Blogger and WordPress seem popular

Here where I work the Firewall of Idiocy just decided that it doesn't like anything on Blogspot because it's, well... a blog. Kind of hard to argue with that logic. Also hard to understand why they block anything beyond porn (HR) and possibly streaming video (bandwidth). In any case, I've had to re-arrange my Favorites list to move all the now-denied entries to a new area (and the one on my handheld to make it easier to read them there). Lots of blogspot entries in my gunnie-centric list.

As to why The Gun Blogs aren't busier I think it's because most of us do have things to say (I'm going to post an entry once I'm done here) but seldom have the time to actually blog it. That's why we sign up here - we can rely on the others to keep the place going while we're pondering issues and waiting for a window of opportunity.

Enjoy!

Q: Why isn't this site the busiest on the internet?

A: Because the government hasn't indicted you nor seized any of your worldly goods yet.

You will notice a spike in traffic right about mid-month when they were invaded by the FBI and Secret Service. I would hope that Bernard von NotHaus speaking fee rates have gone up.

Perhaps you could offer stuffed Ron Paul dolls. I am sure if they were popular enough you could get yourself raided and as sure as the sun rises in the morning you will have more popularity than you could handle.

In case you were characterizing not (relatively) busy as in there should be more posts and/or comments. The reason is because all the people signing up live in the United States and are of the belief "it can't happen here."

Perhaps you should start an underground Chinese language web site devoted to responsible and safe firearms ownership and how to obtain forbidden methods of self-defence. I am sure you could get the Chinese government to outlaw you. Traffic in the form of posts and comments would surely follow. Now the only problem is learning what is commonly characterized as one of the world's most difficult written language.

-Or- you could run for governor/congressman/state legislator/mayor on the platform of relegalizing machine guns - I am sure that would get -someone's- attention and a couple hundred comments. In Arizona there isn't even a fee, just some modestly onerous forms and a signature requirement. Next find someone else to run for 'office X' on the platform of relegalizing submachine guns because relegalizing machine guns is crazy talk. I am sure you would have a pack of newspeople talking about thegunblogs.com non-stop. Whether they have anything coherent to say would be a question for another day.

Nah

I'll do it the old fashioned way.

Write about stuff I think is important and hope folks come by.
